As the story goes, a fabulous model walked into a London bar and asked for a cocktail that was both an energizer and highly boozy. And with this, the espresso martini was born. Although it comes in many forms, it is one of the most popular cocktails.
A brilliant spiked coffee, it's a great after-dinner drink and happy hour cocktail, perfect for when you desire a little pick-me-up from your cocktail.
This is a very basic recipe for an espresso martini, and it's very easy to mix up.
Let's talk about the ingredients.
Vodka
Any Vodka will do. But try to go for something organic. Prairie Organic Vodka is a great choice and very affordable!
Distilled from corn, this organic vodka is beautifully smooth with hints of melon and pear on the nose, creaminess on the palate and a bright finish. 100% organic and gluten-free. Prairie Organic gives 1% to help farmers go organic!
Coffee Liqueur
Kahlua is a classic choice and one of my favorites. I love how it blends into a creamy foamy coffee cocktail with the espresso in this martini.
Another favorite of mine is Licor 43. This is something you can add in addition to Kahlua. Made from citrus and fruit juices, flavored with vanilla and other aromatic herbs and spices, totaling 43 ingredients.
Espresso
You can go for a cold brew from a can that can be found at any grocery store.
Blue Bottle Coffee makes an 8oz can of cold brew that is a great option.
You can also get espresso or cold brew from your favorite local coffee shop.
If you have a Nespresso machine at home, Pod & Parcel is a yummy espresso choice.
This Australian brand is all about good tasting espresso with a conscience. Made from a plant-based material, the capsule of their pod breaks down in just 90 days†. They also release up to 75% less C02 during production when compared to Aluminium. If you want to try it out, use this referral code to get 10% off your order!
