Christopher Kennedy Midcentury Home Tours for the Animal Shelter

We are thrilled to announce an entire weekend celebrating the Palm Springs history of modernist architecture and interior design.

Hey friends, our modernism home tours are back and better than ever! In 2023, we won't be having one house on tour -- we will be opening the doors of eight fabulous properties designed by our firm.

Proceeds from the house tours and parties will directly benefit the Palm Springs Animal

Shelter. To purchase tickets, visit psanimalshelter.org/hometour.

Indian Canyons Neighborhood Tour

1-4pm

$185

On Saturday, February 18th we will be opening the doors of four private homes in the historic neighborhood of Indian Canyons, ending with a cocktail reception at the fabulous final home on the tour!

Once the exclusive domain of the Agua Caliente Indians, development began on the Indian Canyons Neighborhood in the early 1960s and the first golfers teed off at the Canyon Country Club golf course in October 1962. The iconic clubhouse was designed by famed architects Donald Wexler and Ric Harrison. The Canyon Country Club, now known as the Indian Canyons North Course, was the first 18-hole golf course in Palm Springs.

The Indian Canyons tour will include a return the final Christopher Kennedy Compound (below), which debuted during Modernism Week in 2019. Our clients have owned the house since it was renovated for Modernism Week. Of course, The Christopher Kennedy Compound was a decorator Show House, with different designers creating each room. In 2023, guests will get to see our firm's reimagining of the spaces for our clients.

Christopher Kennedy Sunset Soiree

6-9pm

$250

On Saturday, February 18th, Christopher will open the doors to his own Forever Home Fixer for the very first time, hosting a swanky sunset soiree.

Maybe it was the lack of water in the pool, or the leaky roof, or the lack of cabinets and appliances in the kitchen... but people have followed every step of the way during CK's two-year remodel of his Forever Home.

Vista Las Palmas Neighborhood Tour

1-4pm

$185

On Saturday, February 19th we will be opening the doors of three private homes in the historic neighborhood of Vista Las Palmas, capped off with a cocktail reception at the final home.

In Vista Las Palmas, the firm of Palmer and Krisel, as well as architect Charles Du Bois, designed approximately 330 homes. William Krisel contributed his iconic 'butterfly' roof houses, a folded plate roof design, and several others. Charles Dubois created the distinctive 'Swiss Miss' A-frame, among others. The mix of designs creates one of the most varied, yet cohesive neighborhoods in Palm Springs, and it is always a stop on any architectural tour of the area. The Christopher Kennedy Midcentury Tour for Palm Springs Animal Shelter will be the only Vista Las Palmas home tour offered in February 2023.
