Hi, I’m Christopher.
Friends call me CK.
I believe in humanity. I believe in beauty.
I believe in crafting spaces that enhance the lives of my clients. I believe that our physical environments have power. Creating rooms that inspire people, that elevate them, that help them live in the moment, to have meaningful conversations with their loved ones, to get a good night’s sleep…that is what inspires me: impacting peoples' lives for the better.
WHAT REALLY MATTERS
THE BOOK JACKET BIO
Christopher is an interior designer, product developer, author, and philanthropist. Combining jet set nostalgia with California modernism, Christopher’s work and products have been featured in press and television around the globe. His widely published work has earned him the reputation as one of the most influential designers in the United States.
His licensed collections include over 500 artwork pieces for Wendover Art Group, available through other designers and retailers nationwide. Christopher is the author of two design books: 2015’s California Modern and 2017’s Making Midcentury Modern.
His philanthropic contributions to Palm Springs are best known for The Christopher Kennedy Compound, a designer showhouse for Modernism Week that ran for six years, cumulatively raising over $500,000 for local charities. He continues to use his platform to support architectural preservation, animal shelters, and LGBT causes.
Born in San Francisco and raised on California’s Central Coast, Christopher brings a synthesis of big-city style and relaxed resort living to his work. He holds Bachelor of Architecture and MBA degrees from Drury University.
I’m the kid drawing floor plans and furniture designs in middle school, who spent weekends touring model homes with his mom, and preferred art class to little league.
I’m the guy who moved from LA to Palm Springs at the tender age of 27, when my parents passed away, because my dad taught me that life is too short not to do what you love. When you love what you do, he said, you won’t work a day in your life.
Today, I’m the man who is living his dream through helping other people create their dream homes. Still drawing floor plans, but now I get to design those model homes. And it doesn’t feel like work at all. Early riser, avid reader, eternal optimist, and doting dog daddy.
